Mount Carmel Public Library

 

Located behind City Hall, Mt. Carmel Library has a collection of just over 7,400 items, including books, videos and audio books. 

Library membership is free of charge to Hawkins County residents and residents of surrounding counties. Children may become patrons with a parent or guardian's signature.

 We use the Concourse Automated Circulation System which includes quick checkouts and a computerized card catalog.

 

 

All books and audiotapes may be checked out for a two-week period. Videos may be checked out for two business days. A copy of the circulation policy in its entirety may be obtained at the library.

 

We offer Preschool Story Time on Tuesdays from 12:00pm - 1:00pm . All ages are encouraged to attend. Parents are welcome. Please come and join in the fun.

 

Looking for information on the Internet?   We have 4 computer stations located in the library with Internet access.

Computer classes are filling up quickly. Come by or call today to sign-up for one of our FREE classes. Computer classes are offered weekly on Monday from 6:00pm - 7:00pm and Tuesday afternoons from 1:30pm - 2:30pm .

 

There is an ongoing book sale in the library. All you can get into a bag for $2.00. There are hardbacks, paperbacks, romance, mystery, nonfiction and much more to choose from. All the proceeds are then used to purchase new materials.

We gladly accept Donations.

Donation Policy: If the item is not on our shelf, and is in good condition, it is placed in circulation. If we have the item, then we retain the copy that is in the best shape. All other items are placed in our book sale.
