The Reserve Unit of the Mt Carmel Police Department provides a invaluable service to the City. Members of the Reserve Unit are not paid for the services they provide, they donate their time for the betterment of the community. They provide services to Administration, Patrol, and Records. They issue citations, provide security at special events, traffic control, and Courtroom Security. As of January 01, 2006 the Reserve Unit consists of three (3) members. Officer Chris Haworth,  ,  Officer Colby Williams, and Officer Laura Catron.  All Reserve Officers are provided with valuable training, which is mandatory every month. The Reserve Unit is supervised by a full-time officer who oversees the unit and maintains the training records.  The Reserve Supervisor for the Department is Officer Bobby Moffitt.
